Are bungalows soon to be back in fashion…?

Ed Pickles the community secretary is to publish rules that make councils match development to the type of accommodation required locally in order to cater for the UK’s ageing population. Planers will have to ensure that they allow accommodation of the right type that are suitable to the surrounding population. With the ageing population one can only think clusters of bungalows will be prioritized by planners. Pickles hopes that by doing this pensioners will be persuaded to downsize freeing up larger family homes. Will it work?? One cant tell, however we are sure that if the policy is implemented correctly there is an opportunity for investors and developers in the residential property market. It will be interesting to see how this unwinds over the coming weeks….
